Welcome to the first official Save Urbania development newsletter.
Here I'll be sharing screenshots, progress updates, development issues, and various curiosities. The idea is for this page to grow over time like a magazine.
It took me quite a while to learn how to design a NEOCITIES page with HTML, so don't expect anything too beautiful yet (only for now!).
Save Urbania is an RPG featuring a Tower Defense-style battle system, where players must defend themselves using towers to defeat robots.
Sounds cool, right?
...
Heh, I knew it.
The game is about a biotechnological invasion taking place in a fantasy city with a cartoon-like style.
The protagonists are ordinary people who have spent their entire lives in a city that seems perfect from the outside. However, they will have to face both the invading forces and the psychological horrors that come with them.
The plan is to divide the game into SIX CHAPTERS. We still haven't decided how many of them will be free, but we do know that part of the game will be playable at no cost so anyone can try it.
The remaining chapters will be released separately at a very low price (around €3–4 each). Everything earned will go directly toward funding the game's development.
... Not very far, honestly.
But you have to let us COOK! Even if it doesn't look like much, WE'RE MOVING FAST! We've taken a short break that's almost over, and development is about to resume in full force.
We're a small team... Five or six people. That may sound like a lot, but remember that we're students and most of us are also working on other projects. It will take time to release the first chapter...
For now, the team consists of:
I want Save Urbania to have a simple style, with pixel art graphics and a calm atmosphere.
There is still an enormous amount of work left to do, but little by little it is starting to feel like all of this may one day bloom into something real.
And by the way, the incredibly talented illustrator Stal von Dritch created this beautiful illustration of SANZ, the protagonist of this story. Isn't he adorable? I'm sure SANZ definitely doesn't have a massive character arc!
Nothing. You'll have to keep waiting!
